Can you repair plastic worms?

I fish a lot with plastic worms, my favorite is the 5" Yamasenko ( Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits) I like Green Pumpkin and Watermelon the best. The problem is that the worms are so soft I tear them up quick. When I catch a fish, you can count on it tearing up. They are very expensive too. Better than 7 bucks a pack. Can I repair these. What is a better way that is not so expensive and get the same results?
