Swivels Size

Thumbs up to BC. Swivel size shouldn't be TOO small, and a "ball bearing" swivel is always a good idea. You CAN use a Fluro leader- esp when you're using a "dragging" retrieve. (A slow, dragging, retrieve mimics a Crawdad crawling along the bottom.) In some situations a 17-20LB MONO leader works better, (Mono has floating properties and works better with the "lift & pause" retrieve). By the way, the lowest weight you would want to use for deeper water, (over 12FT) Carolina Rigging would be 3/4 OZ, with 1 OZ being about average. Use two glass beads in your C-Rigg- they have the most "irritating sound"- http://www.basspro.com/Faceted-Glass-Beads/product/2059/-503642 (You might want to save yourself some money and purchase your glass beads at a craft store like Michael's......they work the same and are cheaper) You COULD use the same line (15LB Fluro) for your leader, but if you decide to use Mono you need to move up to (at least) 17LB. 17-20LB Mono has much less stretch than 14-15LB...... If you are fishing in relatively "open" water, (a long point or drop-off with very little weed-growth or structure), you could downsize your leader size- BUT, in my opinion, I wouldn't downsize past 10-12LBs.
